With their emphasis on beautiful lines, immaculate detail, intricate counterpoint, and sparkling virtuosity, Italian Renaissance art and the music of the Baroque era have much in common. This concert puts these parallels in relief by juxtaposing The Morgan Library & Museum’s current exhibitions of altarpieces by Pontormo and  drawings by Tintoretto with chamber works by Italian Baroque composers, including Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Biber’s Sonata No. 3 in F Major, Corelli’s “La Folia,” and masterworks by Vivaldi and Merula. Learn more about Venice and the composers and works on the program here.
