Taylor’s Brandenburgs is choreographic grandeur at its finest, within the joyous atmosphere of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. It is paired with Taylor’s Cascade, where the intricacies and complexities of Bach’s scores are made visual with stunning solos, duets, quartets, and full ensembles. The program also offers another world premiere for the Taylor Company: internationally-acclaimed choreographer and performer Margie Gillis’s Rewilding.

Runtime: 100 minutes

PRE-SHOW TALKS

One hour prior to the performance, join us for a lively discussion on the works featured on the program at Manhattan School of Music’s Greenfield Hall.

Paul Taylor’s biographer Suzanne Carbonneau shares a brief overview of Cascade. She will be joined by choreographer and dancer Margie Gillis to talk about Brandenburgs, which was originally led by Margie’s brother Christopher Gillis, a member of the Taylor Company from 1976-1993. Gillis will also discuss Rewilding, her new commission for the Taylor company.
