Orchestra of St. Luke’s Free School Concerts series continues with the music of American composer Gabriela Lena Frank. Students will learn about Frank’s music and the inspiration she draws from her multicultural background, especially her mother’s Chinese-Peruvian heritage. With narration written and performed by Kirya Traber, the concert highlights Frank’s belief in music as a powerful tool for civic engagement. Frank herself will be a featured performer in selections from her Cuentos Errantes: Four New Folk Songs for Piano and String Orchestra.
