St. Luke's Gift of Music Gala is an annual fundraising event honoring an outstanding individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Each year the event features dinner, dancing, music by the Orchestra of St. Luke's and the presentation of our Gift of Music Award.
This year's Gift of Music Gala will take place on Monday, May 4, 2009 at The Plaza Hotel in New York. The event will honor the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust, Charles Grossman (in memoriam), Ben Needell and Skadden, Arps, Meagher & Flom LLP, and M&T Bank. The evening will feature performances by violinist Joshua Bell and the Orchestra of St. Luke's, and will benefit St. Luke's Orchestra, Chamber and Education programs and the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.
