St. Luke's Gift of Music Gala is an annual fundraising event honoring an outstanding individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Each year the event features dinner, dancing, music by the Orchestra of St. Luke's and the presentation of our Gift of Music Award.
This year's Gift of Music Gala will take place on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the newly-refurbished Plaza Hotel in New York. The event will celebrate the Founder and President of the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Marianne Lockwood.
Honorary Chairs Mikhail Baryshnikov and Renée Fleming lead a Gala Committee which includes Gala Chair Norman S. Benzaquen and Gala Vice Chairs M. Bernard Aidinoff, Robert W. Ashton, Consolidated Edison, Joan K. Davidson, Joe and Diana DiMenna, Victor and Sono Elmaleh, Judy and Tony Evnin, Richard Gilder and Lois Chiles, Andrea and David Holbrook, and Virginia James. Barbara Feldon will host, and the evening will feature a performance by special guest, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, with special guest conductor Patrick Summers and the Orchestra of St. Luke's.
