Lead Donors
The DiMenna Center for Classical Music is named in honor of Joe and Diana DiMenna for their dedication and extraordinary generosity to Orchestra of St. Luke's. They made a $5 million leadership gift to the campaign, and Joe DiMenna has been a board member since 2000.
Robert & Jean Ashton Music Library
The Bay and Paul Foundations honor Robert and Jean Ashton with the naming of this music library. Through the Foundations, Bob has championed the support of classical music and the arts education programs at Orchestra of St. Luke's, where he has been a board member since 1986.
Norman S. Benzaquen Hall
Norman Benzaquen’s strong leadership and generous support led the quest for Orchestra of St. Luke’s first-ever home. This hall is named in appreciation of his many contributions, particularly those made towards The DiMenna Center, and by those who have contributed in his honor.
Mary Flagler Cary Hall
From 1968 to 2009, the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust honored the late Mary Flagler Cary, who cared deeply about the training and well being of orchestral musicians. One of the Trust’s interests was to support New York City’s orchestras through general support, composer commissions, recording projects, and more. A long-time, generous supporter of Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the Trust made a legacy gift before closing to name this hall, and to support affordable rehearsal space for the many music ensembles who will use it.
Victor & Sono Elmaleh Musicians’ Lounge
The Musicians’ Lounge is named in honor of Victor and Sono Elmaleh. Through their help, Orchestra of St. Luke’s discovered and secured the site of its future home here at The DiMenna Center. Their love of music and musicians is matched only by their incredible generosity, and Orchestra of St. Luke’s is grateful to them for their many gifts including a special endowment to underwrite guest pianists.
Charles Grossman Café & Lounge
The Café and Lounge are named in memory of Charles Grossman, as a tribute by his family and his friends Liliane and Norman Peck, The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation, Ben Needell, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meager, and Flom LLP. A Board Member and chair of the building committee, Charlie brought great knowledge and wisdom to Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend.
Marianne Lockwood Green Room
No one is more admired in the history of Orchestra of St. Luke’s than Marianne Lockwood, the esteemed Co-Founder and President Emeritus. The Green Room is named in honor of her remarkable leadership and for the special place she holds in the hearts of the musicians, staff, and board.
