Incorporating Latin American beats, Jazz, and John Adams' trademark rhythmic pulses, El Niño is a musical retelling of the Nativity story. The composer leads St. Luke's and star soprano Dawn Upshaw, mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, and bass-baritone Eric Owens in this gentle oratorio celebrating life, new and old.

Inspirational and iconic, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 is the standard against which a composer's symphonic work is measured. Soloists Jessica Rivera (soprano), Kelley O'Connor (mezzo-soprano), Eric Cutler (tenor), and Wayne Tigges (bass-baritone) are featured in this definitive work. Sir Roger Norrington, renowned for his interpretations of Beethoven's works, returns to St. Luke's in a performance beginning with Haydn's Symphony No. 99 in E-flat Major.

Acclaimed for his "exacting leadership and breathtaking contrasts" (Los Angeles Times), pianist and conductor Christian Zacharias leads St. Luke's in Schumann's lyrical third symphony, the "Rhenish," and performs as soloist in Beethoven's third Piano Concerto. The program also includes C.P.E. Bach's Symphony in E-flat Major and Rheinische Kirmestänze, Bernd Alois Zimmermann's interlude for 13 winds inspired by Schumann’s "Rhenish" Symphony.
