FUND FOR THE FUTURE

The DiMenna Center for Classical Music

“I am thrilled that the Orchestra of St. Luke's will be joining us… Now, along with the programs and initiatives of Baryshnikov Arts Center, the whole building will be transformed into a resource that will help relieve the shortage of adequate and affordable space for artists of all disciplines in the greater New York area.”

Mikhail Baryshnikov

St. Luke’s announces our new home, The Dimenna Center for Classical Music. The DiMenna Center, located at 450 West 37th Street, will open in 2011 and will provide rehearsal, recording, and education facilities for St. Luke's and many of the city's musical groups. The newly renovated building will boast a state-of-the-art orchestra rehearsal room, several large ensemble rooms, a café/lounge, music library, and locker facilities for hundreds of musicians. Also home to the Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street will be a multi-arts complex, and will provide free programs for community residents such as open rehearsals and lunchtime chamber music performances. The DiMenna Center is named for Joe and Diana DiMenna in honor of their leadership gift of $5 million to St. Luke's Fund for the Future. With a $50 million goal, the Fund for the Future capital and endowment campaign will support the purchase, renovation, and operating endowment for The DiMenna Center, in addition to special endowment funds for St. Luke's general operating expenses, arts education programs and artistic initiatives.
