The DiMenna Center for Classical Music
“A major boon for New York's classical music scene."”
The New York Times
St. Luke’s announces our new home, The Dimenna Center for Classical Music. The DiMenna Center, located at 450 West 37th Street, will open in 2011 and will provide rehearsal, recording, and education facilities for St. Luke's and many of the city's musical groups.
The newly renovated building will boast a state-of-the-art orchestra rehearsal room with recording and staging capabilities, several large ensemble rooms, two artist studios, a musician lounge and café, a multi-purpose/recording room, and a music resource center and library. Also home to the Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street will be a multi-arts complex, and will provide free programs for community residents such as open rehearsals and lunchtime chamber music performances.
"I am thrilled that the Orchestra of St. Luke's will be joining us…" said Baryshnikov Arts Center Founder, Mikhail Baryshnikov. "Now, along with the programs and initiatives of Baryshnikov Arts Center, the whole building will be transformed into a resource that will help relieve the shortage of adequate and affordable space for artists of all disciplines in the greater New York area."
