ST. LUKE'S AT A GLANCE

Marianne C. Lockwood, President
Katy Clark, Executive Director

St. Luke's is comprised of: The St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble, Orchestra of St. Luke's, St. Luke's Arts Education and The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

Orchestra of St. Luke's has earned a reputation as America's foremost and most versatile chamber orchestra since its inception in 1978. In addition to collaborations and special projects with renowned artists, the Orchestra is presented by Carnegie Hall in an annual subscription series. The Caramoor International Music Festival is the summer home of the Orchestra of St. Luke's where it performs as orchestra-in-residence.

St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble is a group of 21 virtuoso artists who perform nationally and internationally, and make up the core of the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Formed in 1974, the Chamber Ensemble performs a diverse array of programs, exhibiting the versatility and cohesiveness that have become St. Luke's hallmarks. The Ensemble currently performs annual series at The Morgan Library, the Brooklyn Museum, and Dia:Beacon.

St. Luke's Arts Education engages 20,000 New York City school children annually with free live performances of music, opera, and dance; teaching artist residencies; musician coaching; and young composer programs with partnership schools throughout the city. These programs are designed to enhance and deepen musical understanding and provide inspiration for the students' own creative efforts.

The DiMenna Center for Classical Music will provide a state-of-the-art rehearsal, recording and education facility for New York's musical community and visiting artists. The new resource center, which opens in 2011 and is also home to the Baryshnikov Arts Center, will form an anchor for classical music on Manhattan's west side, and provide a creative home for St. Luke's and other New York music organizations.
